The location is great and the teachers are professional and make the classes enjoyable as well.
The classrooms were a little warm at times, but I was there during a record heatwave.
The weekly excursions are great and allow you to meet and mingle with students from other classes.
Each teacher has a different style, but everyone is very nice and helpful. It would be useful to have a more comprehensive entrance exam so to place students in the correct level since the beginning. School facilities are good, lovely terrace on top of the building. Fun afternoon activities with Karimi.

It is in a beautiful location in Condesa. The activities of the school are great. Karimi organises it very good. She is very helpful and nice. My stay in an appartment was great as well. The appartment is close to Metrobus station Goma. From there it is a ride with the Metrobus 2 of 25 minutes to the school.

My one regret is that I was unable to get a homestay. I enquired about this months before but none were available. Perhaps the school could try to acquire more contacts in this regard? It would have greatly improved my Spanish if I'd been able to stay in a Spanish-speaking household.
International House CDMX is in a beautiful old mansion in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Mexico City. My instructor was well prepared, provided lessons that challenged me, and was very friendly and helpful. While this latest visit to the school was only for a 5 day period, it was not my first time to take lessons there. Back in 2016 I visited Mexico City and was tutored in Spanish at International House at that time as well. So I have the benefit of experiencing the school at two different moments in time, and the caliber of instruction was consistently top notch. My plan is to return to the International House CDMX next year and to enroll in a 6 month course of study there. I give International House Mexico City an A+.

I enjoyed the classes and the teachers, the location was convenient, and the classrooms were comfortable but a bit too susceptible to outside noise.
The progression of grammar lessons was familiar from my university courses, although an emphasis on listening and speaking in Spanish was far greater at IH that at my university. I would have liked a couple weeks focused even more on conversational skills via basic drills. That is probably boring for teachers and many students, but starting with development of some basic, common skill level at conversation would have helped me a lot.
My time at IH was both fun and very productive.
Adrian is a gifted teacher. He made the lessons so interesting and challenging.
The schools location in Mexico City is in a great neighborhood.
Highly recommend if anyone is thinking about it
I liked the teacher; he was experienced, humorous and knew how to explain grammar and customs of the language use in Mexico very well. The classes were fun. With only 1-3 students not too big (maybe a tad too small, but even when I was by myself the classes took place!) The location is great: very safe neighborhood, many mercados around to grab a lunch snack. The rooms were quite cold - you need a jacket inside.
Voir les détails » Lire plus...My visit to Mexico city was an incredible visit. The city, the culture, the area that I was in. It could have not been better. This was my first time in Mexico City and I do plan on returning ASAP.
The location of the school was also perfect for me as I stayed only 3 blocks away, therefore it was a nice walk and I always felt safe the entire stay.
My teacher, Arturo was a very patient and good teacher. He gave many examples, in great detail for the students to comprehend the material.
I do feel as though the school should have done a bit more to make the students feel more welcomed. For example, the first day they should have had some sort of introduction of the staff to the students and the students to each other. There were not many students enrolled at the time I was there, so this could have been done in a few minutes. Just a brief meet and greet. I do realize that this could be the fact that Mexico City is a huge city and of course that means more of a fast paced city compared to New Orleans, where I come from is a much more slow paced city but acknowledgement of someone is very important.
Upon entering the school each day, if I did not do the greeting, it was not done. I found this to be very unusual for me.
Please do NOT think that I am complaining as I do understand but it is something that I found very unusual since, in my opinion the Latino culture is one of the most friendly cultures in existence. If I were an employee of your school, I would address this as its very important that people traveling to other countries to learn the culture and the language feel welcome by the people they are there to learn from. I also want you to know that this would not stop me from attending your school again in the future , nor stop me from recommending it, but I would certainly hope to see a change upon my next visit.
Thank you again for helping me with school to make this trip possible.
Sincerely,
James (Jimmy)
The class was very small and active. The teacher was very competent and flexible, being able to answer all grammatical, orthographical and language application questions.
The course focused on a broad variety of topics: grammar, times, modes, vocabulary, pronunciation, talking and listening.
I could have benefited from some more learning material (e.g. worksheets) and some more focus on repetition and application of the lessons.
I didn't participate in social activity so I can't judge..
The staff was very friendly and supportive. The house has an open, welcoming atmosphere and the rooms were tidy and equipped.
I would have booked a longer course if I had the time to attend.
I took a week of 2-hour tutoring sessions with a wonderful teacher, Arturo. We practiced conversation about my visit to DCMX, describing activities and neighborhoods. These lessons created a full immersion experience for the week, as I was making my way around town in Spanish the rest of the time too.

And stuffs were so kind. The location is so good in safe area.
I wanted to have time with other groups, like intercambio,at night.
Think about it.
Well, the teachers were all very nice, but there weren't any school activities so that was disappointing.

The school itself is in an excellent location, and the building is beautiful. Staff seemed to be very organized. The teacher was excellent, my only quibble with the classes is that I might have liked a little more homework to consolidate some of the things we learned in class that day. I enjoyed my class so much that I'm looking to book another language study next year.

The school as a whole was big enough that I was able to find my way around easy. Everyone was helpful and welcoming. I felt like I could ask anyone for help.
Voir les détails » Lire plus...Looking to improve my Spanish from B1 to the B2 level, I decided to take a two week course at International House in Mexico City. Our class size was 5 students on the first week and three the following wee, but everyone seemed to be around the same level. The teacher Arturo was a cultured guy who provided good instruction on Spanish language and life in Mexico city. The school is in the hipster friendly neighborhood of Condesa which has it's perks like little cafes and tree covered sidewalks. The one thing I found difficult though was socializing. There's not much interaction among fellow students because of the lack of common area. But more importantly, I found interacting with people in Mexico City a challenge itself. I know it's a big city and everybody has somewhere to go, but this made it really hard to meet new people to actually practice the new concepts I was learning. I chose to stay in a hostel that was only a short bus ride away instead of home-stay because it was my third time to the city. Overall the class was decent but I don't think I reached the level that I expect because I was speaking English most of the time outside of class.
If I were to do this again I would choose a different location to study Spanish. As cool as Mexico City is, with perfect weather and anything you could ever want for relatively cheap price. It's too hard to strike up conversations with strangers when everybody's in a rush.
Dear student,
Thanks for your comments regarding our school and the teacher. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed your lessons. We will take into account your comments regarding the common área.
Loved attending International House. The first week and third week of my stay the class size was 2! The second week we had 6, which felt "large." I realize I totally lucked out with those two class sizes and really loved the personalized attention. Home-stay was also amazing, the family was so great and kind and made me feel like part of the family.

Dear student,
Thanks for your comments. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed the school and your homestay!!! Thanks for coming to IH Mexico.
I was moved to lower class level in which my needs could be better met. Personal attention. Class flow was altered to accommodate student needs. Regular administrative over sees their student experience. Personable, engaged teachers. Interesting fellow students
Class room was often chilly, uncomfortably cool but this is the nature of buildings in the city in February. Dress warmly, including gloves and certainly scarves as well as layered sweaters.
